HOS owners may sell on the secondary market only after the resale restriction period for their scheme has expired
Apply to the Housing Authority (HA) or Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) for a Certificate of No Objection to Sale (online or paper application)
Owner lists the flat privately or through an estate agent
Buyer and seller negotiate the price freely
Both parties sign provisional and/or formal sale and purchase agreements
Resale restrictions on HOS flats sold in 1982–2017 have expired. Flats sold from 2018 onwards have different terms: HOS 2018 may be sold by private treaty on the secondary market from year 3; HOS 2019/2020 at original price only for the first 2 years, then by private treaty from year 3; HOS 2022 and later at original price only for the first 5 years, then by private treaty from year 6. Apply to the Housing Department for premium assessment if land premium has not been paid; if the seller has paid premium, the transaction is the same as a private residential sale

Buyer and seller sign the assignment/deed of mutual covenant
